Skating or classic - cross-country skiing in the Kaiserwinkl region

Anyone who enjoys spending their vacation cross-country skiing will find what they want in Kössen, Walchsee and Schwendt. There is a network of around 127 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails here - both skating and classic cross-country skiing. You can access the Kaiserwinkl trail (which comes from Walchsee) directly in front of the hotel.

Put on your hat and winter boots before heading out into the fresh mountain air - winter hiking in Tyrol's Kaiserwinkl region

Our favourite sound in winter is the snow crunching as you walk on it. When you add the sun sparkling on fields of white snow then you have a perfect fairytale winter landscape. Put on your hat and winter boots to head out into the cold Tyrolean mountain air. Go cross-country across fields of snow, far away from cleared paths, with snowshoe hikes in the winter wonderland. Various providers offer booked tours and can rent out snowshoes.

Leave tracks in the HochKössen ski area or at the Zahmer Kaiser lifts.

These ski areas, with a total of 37 kilometres of ski runs, impress with their clear arrangement. Blue, red and black runs offering something for every level of skill. This makes them perfect for beginners, returnees and families.

You can't buy happiness. But you can buy a ski pass, and that's pretty close.
